Program: regular classes take place from Monday to Friday, after school hours, with the subjects of Portuguese and textual production, Mathematics, Geography, History, Biology, Physics and Chemistry, in addition to training in Citizenship and Environmental Education, covering topics that cross the daily lives of our young people, such as politics, discussion of gender and sexuality, racism, violence and sustainability.

1st Cultural Soiree produced by the students, conceived from the 21 days of activism against racism.
Meetings outside the classroom: in addition to classes, interdisciplinary and extracurricular activities are carried out, either through field classes, institutional visits, participation in events and holding lives on social networks.
Approaching the families and guardians of the students: monthly meetings of those responsible with the project coordination and with the social team (psychologist and social worker), seeking to facilitate dialogue and bonding with the project, through involvement in the training process and student learning.

The covid-19 pandemic and the difficulties faced by students showed that it is necessary to invest even more in access to education for young people in Maré.
Among the main impacts suffered by the students of the project are access to content, passing through automatic approval without having learned what is necessary to enter high school, difficulties in accessing the internet and signal quality in the community, which is unstable, being a major obstacle to student participation in virtual activities, among others. Seeking to facilitate the access of young people to content, in 2021, the project's team of educators prepared three handouts that were distributed and used during classes, ensuring that even those with difficulty accessing the internet could study the content and ask questions to teachers.

The project's objectives remain, enhancing the reinforcement of the content learned by young people in their schools, helping them and strengthening the content through lists of exercises as a way to minimize the lag in teaching caused by the pandemic - with regard to the sharing of content, always prioritizing the maintenance of the bond with the students and their families, thus avoiding a potential school dropout. Through interdisciplinary classes and collective activities, as well as the support offered by the social team, it is possible to observe closely how these aspects impact the lives of students.

In addition to the pedagogical material produced, in 2020, the article called (RE)EDUCATION IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC - Strategies developed in Complexo da Maré, written collaboratively by the coordinator Aline Ádria Borges and the Portuguese teacher of the project, Camila Mendes, was presented at the National Education Congress. The article analyzes strategic points of the High School Preparatory Course for continuity and effectiveness of the virtual activities offered in the current period of social distancing, considering the social context of students and their families.

It was from the Preparatory classes that the students had space for exchange, study and, in a way, cherish."

In 2024, the Mental Health Forum was held for the first time—an activity aimed at discussing mental health issues with young people based on the perceptions of children and adolescents regarding feelings that impact their daily lives, such as anxiety and fear. During the event, in addition to original presentations by the youth, there was also a conversation with the classes about how mental health issues can influence decision-making, especially during a period filled with discoveries and new situations, such as dealing with high school and having to think about near-future plans like choosing a career path. Throughout the Forum, various projects such as plays, songs, and posters were presented, followed by feedback from the project’s psychologist and a guest, educational psychologist Arthur. The initiative was important for allowing young people to address, in a playful and light-hearted way, topics that can deeply affect the everyday life of students.
Always with the intention of inspiring and stimulating the creative processes of students, in 2020 and 2021 collaborative writing activities and storytelling were carried out, culminating in the creation of “Lenda da Maré”, in which the students complemented each other's ideas in the textual production. | In the 3rd edition of the Cultural Soiree, “A breath of optimism”, the students produced poems, drawings, photographs, word clouds, string literature and raps. | Return of face-to-face classes, with the project taking place in a hybrid format. | Preparation of handouts: first pedagogical material produced by the project's educators and distributed to students. | In 2021, some lives were held such as: “Being a woman: equity in the labor market”, in which the guests talked about their professional trajectory and the difficulties they had to overcome in their professions, and the live “Sem Vergonha”, with dialogues about gender and sexuality.
With the aim of promoting discussions beyond the classroom and re-signifying the importance of mobilizing young people, the lives "Talking about Racism #1 and #2" were held, with the concepts of blackness (identity), structural racism , affirmative educational policies, among others; and the live “Future Talk” discussed the difficulties and experience of being a scholarship student, the choice of a technical course, quotas and meritocracy, the job market and the beginning of the professional path. | In the 2nd edition of Cultural Soiree, the event featured theatrical and music presentation, reading of poems, poetry and texts (authorial or not) that reflected their feelings and sensations in this period of social isolation. | First remote interdisciplinary activity: collaborative storytelling and writing. | Opening of the second class in Vila do Pinheiro, totaling 4 classes in the project.
In 2019, the 1st Preparatory Cultural Soiree was held, as a form of integration between High School Preparatory and 6th grade students. The proposed theme was activism against racism and featured music, theater, textual production, interview and video presentations. The event, held at the Maré Arts Center, was important for them to discuss the topic and understand racism in situations where it is often not perceived. | Creation of a new class in Vila dos Pinheiros. | “Rolezinho Zona Sul do Rio”: exploratory activity and appropriation of the city to introduce students to spaces unknown to them in the South Zone of the city or where they did not feel they belonged due to the prejudices and stereotypes imposed on the "favelados". In this activity, the students were taken to Praia Vermelha and Shopping Rio Sul.
Visit by astrophysicist Duília de Mello, who spoke about the universe, brought some stones from different countries and a piece of meteorite, which the students were able to touch, and highlighted the importance of studying.
