PROJETO

Criado em 2010, Maré de Sabores é um projeto da Casa das Mulheres da Maré, iniciativa da Redes da Maré, que atua na qualificação profissional de mulheres e empreendedorismo por meio da gastronomia no conjunto de favelas da Maré, no Rio de Janeiro.

O projeto articula formação técnica, autonomia econômica e acesso a direitos, tendo como eixo a relação entre alimentação, cuidado e dignidade.

A partir desse processo, promove a geração de trabalho e renda por meio do Buffet Maré de Sabores, um negócio de impacto social formado por ex-alunas. O buffet leva a culinária mareense a eventos institucionais, corporativos e culturais, além de demandas privadas, criando oportunidades concretas de inserção produtiva para mulheres do território.

Ao longo de 15 anos, o projeto já formou mais de 1.400 mulheres e viabilizou cerca de 400 experiências de geração de trabalho e renda.

Mais do que um serviço de alimentação, a Maré de Sabores atua no enfrentamento das desigualdades que impactam mulheres negras e periféricas, por meio de práticas de justiça alimentar, economia do cuidado e promoção de direitos.

Essa atuação se desdobra em diferentes frentes complementares, que articulam formação, geração de renda e ações de cuidado no território.

Maré de Sabores Formação

 

A Maré de Sabores surgiu a partir da demanda de mães de estudantes do CIEP Operário Vicente Mariano, na Baixa do Sapateiro, interessadas em melhorar os hábitos alimentares de suas famílias.

A partir dessa experiência, o projeto desenvolveu uma metodologia que reconhece a alimentação adequada e saudável como um direito fundamental e parte essencial da qualidade de vida.

A insegurança alimentar e a exclusão econômica atingem de forma desigual mulheres negras e faveladas, configurando dimensões de violência estrutural. Diante desse cenário, o projeto atua sobre os sistemas alimentares locais como estratégia de cuidado, fortalecimento e promoção de direitos.

A formação inclui cursos de gastronomia, aulas de gênero e sociedade, oficinas de empreendedorismo e marketing, mentorias e orientação profissional, conectando qualificação técnica a oportunidades reais de trabalho e renda.

O projeto também incentiva a participação das alunas em eventos, intercâmbios e espaços públicos, ampliando seu reconhecimento como sujeitos sociais e políticos.

Ao longo de sua trajetória, a Maré de Sabores já formou mais de 1.500 mulheres e consolidou cerca de 400 experiências concretas de geração de renda.

BUFFET MARÉ DE SABORES

 

O Buffet Maré de Sabores é a frente de geração de trabalho e renda do projeto, reunindo mulheres que passaram pelo processo formativo em gastronomia, um exemplo bem sucedido de negócio de impacto social.

Estruturado como um serviço de alimentação, o buffet articula trabalho, renda e permanência no território, ampliando possibilidades econômicas de forma coletiva e alinhada aos princípios do projeto.

Sua atuação abrange eventos sociais e corporativos, reuniões institucionais, ações culturais, universitárias e demandas privadas, levando a gastronomia da Maré para diferentes espaços do Rio de Janeiro.

Os cardápios valorizam ingredientes naturais, preparações artesanais e receitas que dialogam com a memória alimentar do território, marcada pela forte presença da cultura nordestina.

Mais do que a prestação de um serviço, o buffet se constitui como espaço contínuo de prática profissional, no qual as mulheres fortalecem suas trajetórias de autonomia econômica e ampliam suas redes de trabalho.

ALIMENTAÇÃO COMO DIREITO À SAÚDE

 

 

Desde 2021 até os dias atuais, em articulação com o Eixo de Direito à Saúde da Redes da Maré — que compreende a saúde em seu sentido ampliado, envolvendo bem-estar físico, mental, social e segurança alimentar — o Buffet Maré de Sabores também atua na produção de quentinhas para ações humanitárias no território.

Essa iniciativa reafirma a alimentação como dimensão fundamental do cuidado e da garantia de direitos. Nesse período, foram produzidas e distribuídas mais de 400 mil refeições aos mais vulnerabilizados, ampliando o papel da comida como prática cotidiana de cuidado, conexão comunitária e promoção da saúde no contexto da favela.
